"Cats do not have to be shown how to have a good time, for they are unfailing ingenious in that respect." - James Mason "Lewis" has been a very popular piece since I painted it. It was a commissioned painting that has also been licensed for use on many stationary and other products. I used free hand air brush for the rust colored chair, protecting the cat with a hand cut hard edged frisket mask. The mask was then lifted and the Lewis painted. To eliminate the hard edge caused by the mask, I used dark color to paint along the soft edge fur detail and a fine brush with opaque white for the fringe detail in the white paws. Note the cat's name on his collar tag, which is also the title of the painting."
