The painting of these two wonderful cats, Rambo, a classic brown tabby and Kimba, the pretty white one was commissioned by a dear patron of mine who lives in Oregon. She had me paint the cats as a gift for her close friend who owned them. I later found out that Kimba had passed away while I was working on the painting. I thought it fascinating that I had let the white of Kimba's fur disappear into the white of the paper as if she were fading into the invisible realm of the great beyond.
